LUCY ASKEW: THE TEMPEST
When I first heard about this co-production from Creation Theatre and Big Telly Theatre - a fabulous interactive online staging of 'The Tempest' for you to access in your own home - there were only a few shows scheduled and it was too late for me to feature it in our Three To Stream tips. But now some great news - they are bringing it back for another nine performances!

The show, an adaptation created by Zoe Seaton, is attracting viewers from as far away as the US, Mexico, Australia, Canada and India. I spoke to Oxford-based Creation's CEO and Creative Producer Lucy Askew to find out more.

Creation Theatre's virtual production of 'The Tempest' runs for nine performances from 18-25 Apr. You can book tickets on the company website here.

SUBA DAS: LOVE IN THE TIME OF CORONA AND THE LIGHTHOUSE PROGRAMME
In the last few weeks we've mentioned a couple of times the Lighthouse Programme and the 'Love In The Time Of Corona' monologues that are the lockdown output of acclaimed, long established East Anglia-based HighTide.

You are probably well aware of the past work of Suba Das, the relatively recently appointed Artistic Director of HighTide. I put some questions to him to find out more about the Lighthouse Programme, the monologues and HighTide in general.

You can view the 'Love In The Time Of Corona' monologues on HighTide's YouTube channel here and more about the Lighthouse programme in general here.
With London's venues in temporary shutdown as efforts continue to restrict and delay the spread of COVID-19, for the next few weeks we'll be putting the spotlight on great comedy, theatre and other Fringe-style entertainment that is available online - both streaming live and on-demand.

Many of these online shows are free to access, though often there are ways that you can make donations if you enjoy what you see. Given most of the venues, companies and performers behind all this entertainment are facing significant financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 shutdown, any contributions you can afford will really help.

THREE UPCOMING SHOWS>>

Some Enchanted Evening | Hope Mill Theatre | 26 Apr
Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre were sadly forced to cancel their UK theatrical premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'Cinderella' because of the COVID outbreak. So - in part to make up for that - they have arranged an online concert, a celebration of the work of the famed musical partnership, featuring West End stars and cast members from the cancelled production. Find out more here.

All The Web's A Stage | Theatre Together | 23 Apr
This is a bit of a marathon - a live streaming event promising a twelve hour line up of entertainment from a long line up of performers from a wide range of backgrounds - actors, singers, poets, theatre troupes, etc. For more information about the event and who is involved, see this page here and follow the Theatre Together Twitter feed for updates here.

Sofa Setlist | Gilded Balloon (pictured)
Edinburgh's Gilded Balloon have started a weekly YouTube stream to raise funds for artists, and it promises to feature big names and newcomers from the comedy, music, cabaret and spoken word domains. See this page here for more and tune in this Friday at 8pm.

THREE UPCOMING THEATRE PIECES>>

Twelfth Night | National Theatre
I've not been talking about the National Theatre streams because, well, I didn't really feel as though there was much need to, because you'd probably all heard about them anyway. But then I saw that the next one is 'Twelfth Night' featuring the utterly awesome national treasure that is Tamsin Greig. It will turn up here on Thursday.

Crongton Knights | Pilot Theatre (pictured)
Pilot Theatre's acclaimed 'Crongton Knights' had its tour cut short when the lockdown was put in place: they would have been performing at Theatre Peckham from 22 Apr-9 May. That was bad news. The good news is they'll be hosting a webcast of the production for the duration of those dates instead. See this page here for more.

Bard From The Barn | Barn Theatre | from 20 Apr
You may remember a couple of weeks ago that we recommended you watch a stream of the Barn Theatre's production of 'Henry V'. Now they're set to release more Shakespeare-related stuff: monologues from the bard's work reimagined to fit into our current, locked down way of life. They're to be released every week day from 20 Apr via FacebookYouTube and Twitter, so get following.

THREE ALREADY ONLINE THEATRICAL TREATS>>

Tiger Country | Hampstead Theatre (pictured)
As you know, Hampstead Theatre have been releasing some archive recordings for your viewing pleasure, and this one - the highly acclaimed medical drama 'Tiger Country' by Nina Raine - is available until 26 Apr. "December is the busiest time of year for London's hospitals. For one particular team it's business as usual, even with the seasonal upsurge". See this page here.

Love's Labours Lost | Deafinitely Theatre
Deaf launched and deaf led professional theatre company Deafinitely Theatre have launched a response to the lockdown - Deafinitely Digital - which will see the release online of a number of productions, the first being of 'Love's Labour's Lost', performed using BSL at The Globe, as part of the Globe To Globe Festival. See this page here for info.

Five From Inside | Traverse Theatre
Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre was due to premiere 'Donny's Brain' by playwright Rona Munro this month, but for reasons you are all aware of, that didn't happen. Instead, Munro and the creative team involved in the show have put together five monologues to be performed by the original cast for broadcast online. They will all be available to view by the time you read this. See this page here for details.
