HELEN BRYER AND ADAM SMITH: STILL, HERE
The Hackney Carnival, taking place digitally this weekend, was - of course - forced online because of COVID-19.

But 'Still, Here', released this weekend to coincide with those celebrations, is something that will get you out and about in that part of London. It's a walking tour starting at Hackney Town Hall featuring the voices of learning disabled and autistic artists.

It's presented by Access All Areas and its Black Cab Company, and is co-directed by Helen Bryer and Adam Smith. I arranged to talk to both of them to find out more.

'Still, Here' begins at Hackney Town Hall and ends at Homerton Hospital, and it's recommended that you take it in during the day time. It's free and there is no need to book but you will need your own smartphone and headphones. It will be available from 13 Sep-31 Oct, see this page here for all the details.

ROHAN CANDAPPA: LONDON CALLING
Regular readers might possibly remember a few weeks back we recommended, via our Three To Stream tips, that you take in some of the filmed theatrical pieces created by Rohan Candappa via his COVID-19 inspired project, the Lockdown Theatre Company.

This week, the final video in the series will be made available. 'London Calling' - featuring a performance by Guy Hughes (pictured) - is set during the Blitz and is released to coincide with its eightieth anniversary. I spoke to Rohan to find out more about 'London Calling' as well as the Lockdown Theatre Company project as a whole.

'London Calling' is released online on 7 Sep via YouTube. See it, and previously released Lockdown Theatre Company pieces, on the company YouTube channel here.
As the COVID-19 shutdown extends, we are currently tipping the best in digital culture from from across the UK - including online shows from many of our favourite performers and companies who we first discovered at the Edinburgh Festival.

PLUS as real world socially distanced shows slowly return in London we'll be tipping some of those as well here in the TW Weekly each Monday morning. Whether you are in London, Edinburgh or anywhere else for that matter, there'll be something for you!

An open air event featuring some of the work created will take place in the grounds of St John's Church in Leytonstone this weekend. Read more about it and book your tickets here.

THREE MORE THINGS TO ACCESS FROM HOME>>

Watching Rosie | Original Theatre Online | until 30 Sep
This has been available to watch online for a while now, so sorry if you have already been there and done that - I admit I got distracted by digital Edinburgh Fringe shenanigans and probably forgot to mention it at the start of August! The good news is that if you haven't yet seen it, you actually still have quite a lot of time left to make sure you do. It's about experiencing dementia in lockdown, has won much acclaim, and stars Miriam Margolyes, Amit Shah and writer Louise Coulthard. Click here.

Mervyn Stutter: Between Us Interviews | YouTube
Fringe legend and TW Editors' Award recipient Mervyn Stutter has been doing some interviews with fellow Fringe types and four of them are now available via his YouTube channel: you can view those featuring magician Ben Hart, comedian Alexis Dubus, cabaret doyenne Dillie Keane and journalist/comedy critic Kate Copstick right away, and there's a promise of more to come. Check out Mervyn's YouTube channel here and support his endeavours here.

Hunt And Darton: Radio Local - Nine Elms | 7-13 Sep (pictured)
More TW Editors' Award winners from edfringes past now. You may remember, because we ran a Q&A about it, that artists Jenny Hunt and Holly Darton have in recent months been delivering a lockdown version of their 'Radio Local' project, in which they partner with community radio groups to celebrate the localness of good old-fashioned local radio. This week they join forces with the residents of Nine Elms in partnership with Wandsworth Council and Battersea Arts Centre, hosting a show every afternoon at 4pm via Riverside Radio. Expect gameshows, song requests and interviews with locals. More information here and here.
